About Entertaiment
Entertaining stimulates the brain to realease seratonin, dopamine and other chemicals that give a good feeling. It is often focused on themes that the human mind was evolved to understand and react deeply to such as social backstabbing, murders and other aspects of our world that we have a hard time dealing with. Entertainment has the ability to be adapted for a wide range of needs from the personal entertainment of a single person; through a variety of media and to performances intended for many thousands of people.
According to Bates and Ferri, entertainment is understood objectively, communicates from text to audience, involves an external stimulus, offers pleasure, requires an audience and occurs in a passive form.
